The term "makeup artist" - maquiartista - was born in the dissertation research of Márcio Desideri for his Master's degree in Visual Arts at the Institute of Arts at Unesp. Márcio created this term to encompass the varied skills that a cinematic and theatrical makeup artist possesses, in addition to being validated by the Academy of Fine Arts in contemporary art circuits. Internationally recognized, Desideri is an entrepreneur and a PhD student in Performing Arts at UFRJ and has a degree from the Master Makeup Program (complete) at the Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles. He has performed makeup work for theater, musicals, shows, events, advertising, cinema and series. Now "Makeup Artist" is the name of his company LTDA that performs work for cinema, theater, artistic productions and education.
